Co-founder of First Play Sheffield, a gaming discussion/user group in Sheffield. Responsibilities include organising monthly talks and promoting them on social media; helping to run day-long coding workshops and gaming events including a weekend game jam in association with Games Britannia On a individual level I have given several talks at First Play Sheffield including a review of the book Reality is Broken which deals with gamification and 'what is a game' and a talk about the history and nature of music-based games.

I co-presented a videogame themed school assembly for Games Britannia attendees (school children aged between 11-15, audience of 100-120 students) for three days. I also helped with coming up with the theming and content.

My undergraduate dissertation was about the perceptions of software engineering and how it effects women's career choices. It covers a definition of software engineering, the importance of diversity, issues in education and the workplace as well as my own research and analysis of that research.
